Alex Verus Reading Order

Here's the correct Alex Verus reading order: every book in the right order, where to start, and answers to common questions.

Benedict Jacka's Alex Verus follows a London mage who can see probable futures, running a magic shop while dodging the deadly politics of the mage world. Often recommended to Dresden Files fans — sharper, tighter, and fully complete.

Our Recommendation: Publication Order Read in publication order. The twelve books tell one escalating story with heavy continuity — this is not a monster-of-the-week series you can dip into.

A Complete Arc

Risen finishes Alex's story decisively. Jacka's follow-up series, An Inheritance of Magic, is set in the same universe but with a new protagonist — start it after Risen.
