A Song of Ice and Fire is an epic fantasy series by American novelist George R. R. Martin. The series, which inspired the popular TV show "Game of Thrones," is set in the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos and follows multiple storylines, including a dynastic war for control of Westeros and the rising threat of supernatural Others.
